Paleostorm History

A clear glass round-bottom flask sitting on a cork ring, filled with a yellow liquid and a bunch of sharp, needle-like crystals. The yellow crystals have grown all over the inside of the flask, forming a dense, fuzzy-looking layer near the top and a messy web of spikes through the middle. Everything is set against a plain black background, making the bright yellow chemical really pop.

Description
This work depicts collecting suspended particulate organic matter samples by filtering lake water from a coastal lake in the northern Gulf Coast of Florida. This research will help us to see the possible sources of organic matter in lake sediments, from which we can learn about paleoenvironment and paleostorm history.
