Totally Tubular

A photograph of six test tubes held up against a bright, slightly cloudy blue sky. Each tube contains a liquid of a different color, forming a gradient from left to right: deep red, vibrant orange, golden yellow, olive green, muted blue-gray, and dark brown. The tubes are held together by a gloved hand at the top, allowing sunlight to pass through the liquids and highlight their varying levels of transparency.

Description
Here you’ll see some of our many dyes that we use in the Hanson Research Group for future applications in dye-sensitized solar cells. These dyes are adsorbed on to mesoporous metal oxide nanoparticle films and, upon excitation, are able to inject electrons into the MOx conduction band.
