Complex Interaction of Colorectal Cancer Cells Signaling Immune Cells Towards the Malignant Tumor

A fluorescence microscopy image showing a cluster of cells against a black background. The majority of the cells glow in a vibrant, mottled green, while some areas are highlighted in a bright, electric blue. A few distinct, small clusters of cells on the right side of the image glow with a sharp, neon pink light.

Description
This art piece shows the very intriguing phenomenon of communication between immune cells, also known as hemocytes or blood cells, being attracted to colorectal cancer cells. The tumor cells have green fluorescent protein, which gives them a deep green color, while the blue is because of DAPI, which stains the nucleus of cells. The immune cells moving toward the tumor are marked by red antibody stain.
