Nitrile Imine Cycloaddition Energy Landscape

A scientific contour plot titled "Nitrile Imine Cycloaddition Energy Landscape." The x-axis represents "C - C Bond Length (Angstrums)" and the y-axis represents "C - N Bond Length (Angstrums)," both ranging from 1.4 to 3.0. The plot uses a color gradient to show relative energy in kcal/mol, with a color scale on the right ranging from black/blue (low energy, 2.500) to red (high energy, 131.5). Four chemical structures showing different stages of a molecular reaction are positioned in the corners around the central heat map. The top right of the image includes technical text: "B3-LYP/def2-TZVP GS."

Description

This is a potential energy surface that shows energies of structures based on my constrained calculations. It depicts the cycloaddition reaction between a nitrile imine and acetylene. The nitrile imine can be formed from the tetrazole 2ANS5P (2-anisole-5-phenyl) using light or heat.
