Description
Olfactory sensory neurons in mice receive input from chemical odorants, sending projections to the olfactory bulb. Specifically, olfactory sensory neurons of a particular type project to two distinct glomeruli on the olfactory bulb. In this image captured using a lightsheet microscope, the medial and lateral projections of the mouse M72 glomeruli are depicted. The Fadool Lab is dedicated to exploring the relationship between olfaction and metabolism. Currently, we employ light sheet microscopy to investigate the impact of high-fat diets on axonal projections as depicted in images like this and comparing them to mice fed a standard control chow diet.
