A Captivating Display of Protein Crystals

A three-panel scientific figure showcasing bioluminescent protein crystals under a microscope. The left panel is a grayscale phase-contrast image showing the physical shapes of the crystals. The middle panel is a fluorescence microscopy image where the same crystals glow with a vibrant, solid green light. The right panel is a composite overlay, precisely aligning the bioluminescent green signal within the boundaries of the protein crystals.

Description
This photo captures beautiful bioluminescent protein crystals under a microscope. My research aims to understand how proteins do their jobs by determining what they look like (their structure) using X-rays to take a picture of the protein that is packed in the crystal.
